All my resistances are maxed anyway with the Rhyme, except lightning is like 69 I think.

I'm running one SoJ and one BKWB for rings, so I went with a Rhyme offhand in a Superior Sacred Rondache (just happened to have one lying around with +2 sockets, and I think +39 - from doing LK runs with a SacRond weapon rack) for CBF. I tried this (already had a Grief I put together on my planned Smiter paladin), and it worked great! I have Cleansing at the ready to remove Decrepify as Baal casts it on me to keep my attack speed up. Fanaticism does, however, offer significantly less damage than concentration when using grief on your swap. You could also consider putting one point into fanaticism to reach the next ias break point/counteract decrepify. If you do all this you can very easily smite/charge the unravelers down much faster than you could using holy bolt, and the only real sacrifice you have to make to do this is giving up one ring slot. You can put CTA inside your cube and your cube in your inventory so you can still BO as needed.

You need to sacrifice one ring slot for raven frost (which is alright since the dex boost helps with max block), otherwise you need to get cannot be frozen on your shield lest you compromise the hammer portion of the build. Because you're going to be smiting, you need to get cannot be frozen from somewhere as Baal's second wave will freeze you. Next you're gonna have to switch your CTA/spirit for grief PB and the shield of your choice (I use sanctuary in a base with plus to res in order to cap my res on my smiting switch, but an upped hoz or such would work too). At the end of the day use what ever merc weapon you want as its not as important as the next step is. If you've made your insight in a good eth base you'll find that your merc does enough damage so as not to warrant your compromising your build just so you can deal with one baal wave, especially given the bonus damage from might and conc auras. You don't need to ditch insight if you don't want too.

Number one, like most people have said, you gotta get your merc as strong as possible. Here's what you do: you're going to make a 1 point smiter hammerdin and use smite with your concentration aura to kill Baal's second wave.
